Joanna Reypert

Welcome

Hello

Hi, I’m so glad you stopped by. I’m Joanna Reypert. In essence, I am a creative. I see life through the lens of finding and creating beauty in all that is around me. Whether it is my home, the table setting for dinner, or a design project, this is who I am right down to my deepest fibres. Here is a glimpse into my story.

I started adult life as an event coordinator, I specialised in weddings – creating, planning, styling, and coordinating them to perfection. Creating led to event design, and this led to flowers. Marketing our lovely little florist meant digital advertising. I’d been designing all my life, but never digitally. I had the designs for these marketing endeavours in my head; it seemed intuitive, so I began to learn to create and design on a computer. Never happy with average, I pursued the skill.

Somewhere along the line, I fell in love with graphic design. Pausing to study and change careers, I entered the design, web, and marketing industry with a love for combining my organisational skills with communication and conceptualising designs.

I’m a Perfection Seeker. A Creative.  A List Writer. A Planner. An Organiser. A Designer. A Problem Solver. A Visualiser. A Communicator.

What I Do

Conceptualising a visual communication for brands and businesses.

Sometimes it feels tricky to add a title to what I do. But that is part of what I love about it. It is diverse. I’m a graphic designer. An art director. A website conceptualiser. A content marketer. A project manager. A social media manager. A communicator. A creator.

Working as a Graphic Designer for years, I soon discovered that whether I am designing it, or helping someone else to design it, I adore the process of conceptualising the end goal, from initial spec, to final product. Whether it is traditional graphic design work, or figuring out what the visual voice of a brand is, or conceptualising a website design for a company, that effectively & uniquely displays their brand to the world, I just love design.

I love getting into the mind of my clients, and fully translating their brand into visuals, and giving it powerful communication. Every design or visual has an unspoken voice, what does your brand or company’s visual say?

Why I Do It

This is the long bit. But it is also the secret. The underlying motivator that makes me come alive; what drives me and excites me, and makes me push past what I have done or achieved before, and to CREATE. So feel free to skip this, but in case you’re a little intrigued, read on!

Steve Jobs has this to say about Creativity, “Creativity is just connecting things. When you ask creative people how they did something, they feel a little guilty because they didn’t really do it, they just saw something. It seemed obvious to them after a while. That’s because they were able to connect experiences they’ve had and synthesize new things.”

I tend to agree. Deep in me lies a passion for connection, creativity, and communication.

I live for taking things that aren’t, and making them into something that is. And not just any something, but rather something that is purposeful, beautiful, and alive.

So much of what I do is not just about design and creativity, it is about connection and communication – the ability to communicate, to understand, to interpret, to conceptualize, and to give people’s thoughts a voice or communication through visual design.

Some Nice Words

Every so often, someone says something quite nice. You know, the kind of thing you want to remember once in a while. Sometimes it is just a word, or exclamation, and occasionally, a bit of a “make me blush” kind of statement. Here are a few of those golden nuggets that I treasure.

My Offerings

I’m all about how brands and companies are perceived by the world. When you see something, even if it is just for a second, it will give you a feeling. A response. A reaction. You will connect with the unspoken message. An emotion will be unlocked. There is power in design. So much of what I do is not just about design and creativity, it is about connection and communication – the ability to communicate, to understand, to interpret, to conceptualize, and to give your thoughts a voice or communication through visual design.
